Ideas for a Healthy Date Night

Hi Reader,

Ok, so, traditionally, couples associate “date night” with activities like eating a big meal with a rich dessert at a fancy restaurant, going out for cocktails, or taking in a movie, complete with buttered popcorn.

But if you’re trying to clean up your healthy habits with your partner, then you might want to be looking for some healthy options for date night that nurture your bodies and your connection.

First, remember that the main point of date night is to spend quality time with your partner. No kids, no work calls, no Zooms. Make a healthy dinner together, with one of you preparing the entrée and the other a side dish or salad. If you’re not sure where to start with that, take a cooking class together.

And hey, if you're celebrating Galentine's Day this year, that's fabulous too! Gather your besties and cook up something delicious, go out dancing or to a show and enjoy the company of those amazing friends who make your life brighter. 💖

For those coupled up, consider going out to eat but choose a healthy restaurant – actually, nearly every restaurant has healthy options if you’re willing to choose them. 😉Take a walk together, with or without the dog. Hold hands. Stop somewhere for a cup of coffee.

Ideas that work for both:

  • Get active - Go biking, hiking, bowling, or try something new.
  • Dance! Whether you sign up for classes, go out or stay home dancing in your kitchen. Have some fun.
  • Go to a comedy club. Laughter is seriously so good for our health – and laughing with your Significant Other or best friends is even better.
  • Schedule a couples massage or spa day
  • Sign up for Yoga- definitely great for relaxing, being mindful, not to mention flexible

Sometimes you’ll want adventure. Sometimes quiet time. As long as it’s truly together time, you’ll enjoy it either way.

Happy Planning!

Leslie
